The wild whim is telling me that someday, Lionheart Canyon will be a real, physical place. Not simply a canyon in the southwest, but a gathering space tucked away for weary adventurers to find.
The trail to get there is winding and rocky, but hedgehog scrubby bushes would lead the way.
When a band of explorers come to the end of Lionheart Canyon, they’ll find a lodge — could it be a wooden cabin or adobe walls? You’ll be invited to rest your feet, nestle into a woven blanket, and share a meal that we’ve made together.
There would be a big porch with bright windows, overlooking the canyon walls... with the impossible juniper trees growing nearby. The perfect place for somebody who’s looking for something...
There’s a long, handmade table, built for community. I’d invite explorers to sit and create work inspired by their journey. Artwork will be displayed on the white walls, slowly becoming an archival space of the explorers’ history. The lodge would be a collaborative gallery that gifts an inner look into the lionhearts of those who'd been there before.
After meals are shared at the long, wooden table, we'd clean up while listening a playlist of joyful tunes. We’d retreat outside under the stars for campfire, whiskey and conversation.
