It's totally okay if you don't know what some of these mean! We will learn :) There are additional skills we can build on, however I'd say these are the most foundational to learn!

Warping the loom (creating the foundation to weave on)

Tabby or Plain Weave (basic over/under weaving)

Soumak Stitch (braided effect)

Creating texture with different fibers

Twining

Using the Rya knot to add fringe

Hem Stitch (to secure the bottom of the weaving)

Finishing a weaving (removing off the loom)

Tucking yarn and warp string tails into the weaving

Sewing completed weaving onto a branch or dowel

Please check which materials/supplies you already have!

Frame Loom

Cotton warp string (vertical string that goes on the loom to weave on)

Assorted yarns/fibers (anything will work!)

Tapestry needle

Scissors (fabric scissors suggested, but any will do)

Dowels/branches for hangers

What size is the frame loom you have? (Width/height)

Would you like to provide all of your own materials, or would you like me to curate a kit for you?
